Italian Love Story

Even tho this story is located near Paris, in France, it is all about a love with roots in Italy.

....This time it felt different.

I've been doing weddings for more than a decade now, but this time when I was called to shoot a wedding of my dear friend Andjela, I had no idea what's waiting ahead. We got me a ticket to Paris and very soon I was flying to meet her and her new family.

As I mentioned in the beginning, it all happened in France but under an Italian roof.

The experience I got there was life changing, and I'm not speaking in the matter of photography, but that of life.

When I arrived to their house, it was like stepping into one big family...as a member.

From the very beginning I felt like more than a guest, more than a photographer. I felt like a family member...just like the one with a camera :) I will never forget when the groom's mom Gabriella said to me whilst smiling: "Boris, put that camera down and try this prosciutto, before they eat it all".

I spent 2 days there prior to the wedding. During that time I had the privilege to talk, eat and spend time with both families, to meet their culture, to meet them and to listen about food and to enjoy the same. To eat all kinds of cheese, vine, prosciutto, traditional Italian and French meals, sweets, and much more.....

Oh, sorry, I almost forgot, coffee. Everyday I drank cups and cups of coffee :)

I've noticed how much better everything is when you have a short story to share with your family. How, Pont l’Eveque or Roquefort cheese feels much different, even better, if you know a bit of history about it, or if you just have a funny story about how you went to buy a bottle of vine. I think these are the small things we usually just skip and forget, we are too occupied with everything else, so we forgot how to enjoy conversations, small chats with funny endings, sometimes we even forget how to behave like a family.

It made me think, how we take too much of life for granted, and tomorrow, that’s what we'll be left with.

There were around 11 of us there. And let me tell you something.....Two families made a whole wedding, groom, bride everyone. From cleaning, gardening, decoration and everything else. And it was perfect. I was there from the beginning and it has been my pleasure to be a part of their journey, and thus experience my own.

*** Dear Andjela, Andrea, Gabriella, Giovanni, Anna, Luca, Janja, Rajko, Stefan and Kristina. Thank you all for amazing time, and beautiful adventure ***

Salute,

alla prossima volta.

Boris K.

I came across your photography blog and I must say, your work is absolutely stunning. Not only are your images visually captivating, but they also tell such powerful and emotional stories. Your ability to capture moments and emotions in a single shot is truly impressive and it is clear that you have a unique talent for visual storytelling.

Your photographs evoke a range of emotions within me and I find myself getting lost in the stories you are able to tell through your lens. Your work is a true inspiration and I am grateful for the opportunity to view it.
